Neckar valley bike path

Bike ride along the Neckar River

Neckar valley bike path - Now is the time to go cycling again and enjoy nature and the beautiful German cities.
The choice has fallen on the Neckartal Radweg because it has a suitable length and lots of beautiful nature.

The logistics will be much like when we drove along the Moselle. A car trip to Ludwigshafen, where we park the car. A short bike ride to Mannheim, where we spend the night at a hotel right next to the train station. The next day we take a regional train to Villingen-Schwenningen, where the Neckar river springs. The first time we see the source of the river we are cycling along.

I found the parking lot in Ludwigshafen on Ampido Parkplatz Sharing which is a portal where private individuals and companies can put parking spaces for rent. Our parking space is right by the train station in Ludwigshafen, here the car can stand for two weeks for 24 € in total. Buying train tickets on it was quite easy. It is almost free to bring bicycles on the trains in Baden-Würtenberg. Total price for the two of us and bikes 41 €.

Accommodation in Mannheim is booked on total price with breakfast DKK 456.

On Sunday, 5 September, we drive from home with the car park in Ludwigshafen as our destination. It goes with most of the day enough. We only have approx. 5 km. from the car park to the hotel in Mannheim.

Monday, September 6, we run by train until around 14:30.

Again we use the bike map from Bikeline, which also contains links to gps files that I use on navigation from Komoot .
